Tesla signed an agreement with Apple as being the only supplier to Apple at a fixed hedged cost for 5 years for their lithium batteries. Apple wants to make 30% of its battery supply through Tesla lithium, and 70% of its lithium supply from its own recently acquired Turkish lithium mine. Tesla is suing Apple for breach of contract for not being the exclusive supply, and Apple is combating defending with the contract as a purchase supply agreement and not the exclusive supply use agreement.
